Project: Empowering customers to save energy by informative billing
SUMMARY
Empowering offers a new generation of advanced billing and user feedback information services, which go beyond the present legal requirements. The delivering of these services by the utility companies is in line with the deep changes that are occurring within the European utility sector in the last few years, and clearly contributes to the shift from a traditional asset-based business model to a more service oriented and customer-centric business model.
The project focuses on customisable solutions based on powerful Big Data technologies. The Empowering consortium has been able to overcome a number of challenges related to technical development, adaptation to diverse and changing national regulations of the countries involved, real scale rolling out of the informative services over a large number of utilities clients, and adaptation to different organisations and technical infrastructures for each company.
