SUMMARY
Project BIA2017-90912-REDT entitled ‘MONITORING AND ASSESSING THE HABITABILITY, AIR QUALITY AND ENERGY EFFICIENCY OF BUILDINGS’ (Spanish anagram, RED MONITOR) was spawned at a seminar on monitoring and full-scale testing, assessment of buildings and construction systems in building rehabilitation held at the Eduardo Torroja Institute for Construction Science (IETcc) on 14 June 20161. The seminar concluded that the variability in procedures for obtaining, processing, modelling and assessing full-scale data constituted a significant barrier to comparing different research groups’ monitoring experiences and findings and therefore to joint progress. With the intention of addressing that problem, the project was submitted to the 2017 ‘Redes de excelencia’ [networks of excellence] call and awarded funding by the National Programme for the Furtherance of Science and Technology of Excellence.
